A Port Alberni resident captured a rare and striking sight on Tuesday morning of a cougar hunting in broad daylight.
Marnie Robinson was sitting down at home for a morning coffee when she suddenly heard what sounded “like a cat fight.”
There in her backyard was a cougar attacking a deer. While cougars are common on Vancouver Island, they are typically nocturnal and rarely ever hunt during the day.
