On Labour Day weekend my friend Martin and I launched our kayaks from Fair Harbour marina (http://www.gatewaytokyuquot.com) to explore pristine waters of Kyuquot Sound – a complex of coastal inlets, islands and bays on northwestern Vancouver Island, British Columbia. We paddled about 20 km to Rugged Point Marine Provincial Park, which offers spectacular views of the open Pacific Ocean and Kyuquot Sound. Arguably, Rugged Point has the most spectacular beaches on the entire west coast. And to get there means experiencing west coast kayaking at it’s best.
I would like to thank Martin Ryer, for being a such great companion on this trip. Martin is an exceptional photographer and he captured some amazing images of Kyuquot Sound and Rugged Point that you can check out by visiting his blog at https://mryerblog.com/2017/09/09/rain….
Also, I would like to thank Surfrider Foundation (https://www.facebook.com/surfridervi) – awesome group of people that we met at Rugged Point. They were there for few days cleaning entire area, collecting hundreds of pounds of garbage. THANK YOU GUYS, not just for your incredible work, but also for your warm hospitality.
