Overnight fire guts home – Saanich

October 21st, 2015 – The Saanich Fire Department was dispatched for a confirmed structure fire at 3970 Cedar Hill Cross Rd around 1:30am in the morning. Upon arrival, Engine 1 reported the home was fully involved and declared they were going to commence a defensive attack. Crews managed to get the fire under control quickly and knocked down within about an hour. A fire investigator was called to the scene and a police forensics team was on site later that morning. The fire has been deemed suspicious in nature. Four people were taken to the hospital for minor smoke inhalation but have since been released. Saanich Fire and Saanich Police remained on scene overnight for fire watch and security.
